The Face Unlock Feature Will Soon be Available on WhatsApp (Support Android)

WhatsApp is a key mode of communication for hundreds of millions of users worldwide. It's free and simple to use, even though alternatives like Telegram already outperform it in terms of features. It's not every day that the Facebook-owned site receives a new feature, but when it does, users rejoice. We already know that numerous new WhatsApp features are on the way, and a report from WABetaInfo suggests that one more is in the works.

Despite the fact that Whatsapp lacks the functionalities of Telegram, it is nevertheless popular in India, with over 400 million users. Whatsapp, which is owned by Facebook, makes modest adjustments on a regular basis. It adds Dark mode support, several interesting Group admin features, Group invitation link support, and more last year. It also has certain security features such as fingerprint unlock support, improved two-factor authentication, and others.

We believe the new settings will be based on Android's BiometricPrompt API, which allows apps to use both face scanners and fingerprint sensors for biometric identification. However, there is no way to tell right now because the feature is not yet available, not even in the most recent beta release. However, we anticipate that it will be included in a subsequent version fairly soon.

Now, Google has slowly been pushing app developers to switch from the older FingerprintManager API to the newer BiometricPrompt API.
